Chelsea & Gareth | Castle Leslie Wedding

Sometimes you're lucky enough to get those weddings that really leave an impact on you, you connect with the clients so well and especially enjoy seeing their day and vision come to life - Gareth and Chelsea were one of these couples for me. I don't know if it was because Chelsea is also an American girl who fell in love with an Irishman from the North, or that our tastes and styles aligned so well with one another, but their wedding was one of my favourites to date.

Chelsea is from North Dakota and Gareth is from County Down here in Ireland. Medicine is what ultimately brought them together as they met on their first day of their radiology internship in Michigan several years ago and became inseparable after that. Two and a half years later Gareth proposed at the Frick Museum in NYC - in front a Van Gogh painting, her favourite artist- afterwards they took a romantic carriage ride around Central Park. (sigh). They knew they wanted to get married in Ireland and when they came across the elegant country estate that is Castle Leslie they didn't hesitate with securing their July wedding. Castle Leslie was everything they wanted and more - a 16th century castle nestled among 1000 acres of Irish countryside,  exquisite gardens, a lake, equestrian center, onsite accommodation and more! Chelsea grew up riding horses out West and knew she wanted that incorporated into their wedding day and they wanted their American guests to get an incredible Irish experience. Another plus for their guests was that their ceremony was within walking distance, held on the grounds of the estate in the 16th century stone Gothic Cathedral, St. Salvador's.

From the beginning, Chelsea had a very clear vision of what she wanted their wedding day to feel like. Her chosen colour palette was blush and pale pinks, creams, soft greys, an abundance of greenery with hints of gold throughout. Chelsea decided on three different looks throughout the day! Her first was a beautiful Vera Wang gown with Louboutin heels, her reception dress was a grecian number from BHLDN that she paired with Jimmy Choos, and her dancing dress was a flirty, knee-length halter-top dress from BHLDN that she wore with Tory Burch flats! Her taste is amazing and all of her accessories were equally as fashionable. I could go on and on about all of the beautiful details as there were so many on the day, but I think it's best you see for yourself below :) However, one of my favourites was the nod to their love for elephants through the place card and table number holders - Gareth and Chelsea are elephant activists! How amazing and cool! For the stationery, we got the incredibly creative and talented Signora E Mare onboard, she handmade and assembled it all so beautifully! The inimitable The Informal Florist created gorgeous bouquets, garlands and centrepieces incorporating Chelsea's favourite flowers of blousy cafe au-lait dahlias, peonies, and garden roses with trailing greenery. Towards the end of the evening, Paula stole them away for some of the most beautiful portraits I've ever seen, with just the two of them and the horses in a field. I'm so happy to finally share this wedding with you all!
